Common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus)

Have you ever seen a monkey the size of your palm? Zoo Negara recently acquired three specimens from one of the smallest species of monkeys called Common marmoset from Underwater World, Langkawi. Originally from Brazil, they are also known as True marmoset or White-tufted-ear marmoset as they develop white tuffs that extend from the sides of their face as they age. By carefully observing these playful marmosets, they can be individually identified by their unique characters. The trio are named Bella, Del and Mar.

Come and visit them at Zoo Negara Children's World section and be charmed by their cheeky monkey behaviours!
